The Summer Lake series is sweet n steamy, small town romance with a focus on fun, friendships and happily ever afters. It follows a group of friends from a small lakeside town in the California hills. They have kept in touch over the years and now, in their early thirties, their lives are drawing them back to Summer Lake and to each other.

In Love Like You've Never Been Hurt, you'll meet the gang in Jack and Emma's story. He wants to give her forever - the trouble is, she doesn't believe in forever anymore.

In Work Like You Don't Need the Money, you'll meet Pete and Holly. He doesn't have room for a woman in his life - only in his bed – the trouble is, once he gets her into his bed he can't get her out of his mind.

And in Dance Like Nobody's Watching, you'll meet Missy and Dan. He's a quiet, shy, tech genius whose success in life should make him happy – the trouble is, it doesn't. She's a broke single mom who talks too much - being around her makes him happy.

  • I cannot believe this woman

    By Slvilove
Is she 12 yrs old? I’m not finished the first book but how many times can see see her bf with his cousin or have him not answer his phone and she runs away AGAIN? And says can’t do drama. It’s the most ridiculous story I have read in a long time. Hopefully the second book is better bc I can’t take another story of her running bc she’s a quote scared mouse bc she saw her new bf on the beach with his cousin. It’s too painful and she can’t see how nobody agrees? Get a grio

  • Just enough!

    By kmlind
Just enough seriousness, love, laughter, joy, friendship and steaminess to make you sit back with a sigh and say - that was a good read! I’ve only read the first three, but you can bet I’ll read the rest!

  • So many errors.

There are so many formatting errors in the second book. Entire pages seem to be missing in this edition. There definitely needs to be an update.
  • Summer Lake review from Smurfette

    By Wanda K McD
I've just finished the 3rd book about Summer Lake, and I've enjoyed every single page! You've made me want to travel until I find Summer Lake and move there myself...too old to think about wanting to live in a place like that for romance, but the friendships these people have are what truly makes life fun and interesting and bring so much more love and laughter into people's lives. As a disabled 60 year old, having had to move back where I was born (for financial reasons) I've had to leave all my adult friends...and the childhood ones have not made a place for me in their lives. So yes, I'm in fantasy land with every turn of a page. Can't wait to be able to afford the rest of them!
  • Poor writing

    By Veronicarenee!!(:
The writing in the first book was horrendous. The details to make the scene were good, but that was it. Plot was typical for a romance. Who doesn't like a happily ever after? The dialogue between characters was subpar. It felt as if I was reading an info-commercial. "Wow. Wow. Wow. Do you like? I like. Character said happily. Repeat. Gee wilickers. Purty lady. Character said disappointedly. Repeat." The Spanish that the author attempted to put into the second book was just as bad. If you want to read a book to help you on a sleepless night, this would be a great set to keep on hand.
  • Really???

    By DM0402
I wonder if all these high reviews were done by adults or teens? This book appears to be written by a pre-teen that thinks they are writing for an adult audience. I only made it through the first story before deciding to delete the book. It reminds me of when I was in middle school, thinking about how relationships work. The maturity level of the characters was that of pubescent children. From their actions to their words, I cringed. But I guess when you chose a free book, a lot of the time you get what you pay for.
  • Summer Lake Romance boxed set (Books 1-3)

    By PJSPhotogirl
I really enjoyed this boxed set & all the different characters that were friends from a small town. I have to admit that the character "Emma" in the first book really got on my nerves with all her insecurities , but I understand what SJ was trying to get across. A lot of men & women are insecure in relationships due to really bad ones in there past. Keep on doing what your doing SJ, these stories were funny, romantic, sweet & head on.
